Beginnings, the time when a couple come together under the wedding canopy and commit themselves to share their lives together, the flowering of a relationship, the budding of the family.
Painted in deep Persian blue, palm trees sway around a classical view of Jerusalem.
Stars of David balance the work, one representing the rising sun, offsetting the second, with the full moon.
Pomegranates, the fruit of fertility and growth, share the blue floral pattern.
At the bottom of the piece is a peacock, symbolic of joy.
The work is bordered by the words from Bereishit - "In the beginning, when God created the heavens and the earth".
This work was created in the hope of bringing aesthetic substance to the ethereal nature of a couple's joy.
Dimensions: Approximately 18" x 21"
